I saw a quote today on the internet, and it resonated with me so much:
“Prosperity, prosperity, prosperity, is perpetual with people who prefer to be penetrating, prepared and purposeful. But, prosperity only comes to those who are trustworthy, deliver and who are content and consistent. Basically, it boils down to commitment. If you can put your soul into anything, you can plug into the whole world. It will be yours. You can sweep prosperity with your commitment. Contain, commit and be continuous.”
So says the great yogi master, Yogi Bhajan. (August 26, 1929–October 6, 2004). A great friend of my own Guru, Sri Swami Satchidananda, Yogi Bhajan was a spiritual leader and entrepreneur who introduced Kundalini Yoga and Sikhism to the United States. He was the spiritual director of the 3HO (Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization) Foundation, with over 300 centers in 35 countries. Yogi Bhajan was a tall, handsome man, full of energy and the wisdom of the ancients, and I was privileged to meet him when he would join us for dinner with Swami Satchidananda. Their personalities were quite different–Gurudev (Swami Satchidananda) was quiet and understated, while Yogi Bhajan was a powerhouse of virility!
When we bring our mind to focus in our Yoga practice, we come into better alignment with the universal energy. The universe loves you and wants you to be happy! We can tap into the abundance of the universe when we sit for meditation, do pranayama, or practice Hatha Yoga, give selfless service, or chant with devotion. Do whatever feels good to you, and mix it up a bit. That’s why we call it BIG Yoga. It’s expansive and inclusive of the many different approaches to realizing the Self. Our ongoing to commitment to spiritual practice is essential to realize all that we can be, do, and have.
The Bible says “Ask and ye shall receive”, so don’t forget to ask!
